Lucky Enough is about the transition from years of small-boat ownership to life aboard a cabin cruiser — and everything we’ve learned along the way.

Based on the Rideau Canal, this site documents our journey into cruising: choosing and buying a cruiser, marina life, costs, trip planning, technical decisions, and the realities of spending extended time on the water.

The Rideau is our home base, but not the boundary. Alongside trip stories and videos, you’ll find practical guidance, detailed notes, and answers to the many questions that come with cruiser ownership — the kind of details we couldn’t easily find elsewhere.

We’re in the final stretch before taking ownership. This site will continue to grow as our cruising season begins — and well beyond.
